Thanks! I guess I didn't search the help for long enough. I'm still not sure what the drop down does. I have a conditional compile flag that I change for debug. When set for debug, it turns off code protect, wdt, and stuff like that. When not set for debug, it leaves that stuff on. I also select the ICD2 under the debug menu for debug and under the programmer menu for programming. This has been my approach on a bunch of 18F devices and a couple 24H devices. So... I wonder if the drop down just inserts a symbol that the compiler and linker look at? A more detailed explanation from Microchip would be great. I generally find their documentation on the compiler and linker to be a bit brief. The chip documentation seems complete enough, though.
