Where's the fun in that? I had an amusing conversation yesterday regarding Americans & voting. They complain about the goverment, don't vote, are amazed that Australians have compulsory voting (that's a violation of your rights) and live in a democracy. Right. (No Americans were about to defend themselves, unfortunately.) You can pigeon-hole people into 3 categories: A: Whingers B: Doers C: Don't care There's really only 2 categories, the "Don't care" folk become whingers at the drop of a hat. I've found that I don't have much time for the more rabid whingers these days. Those who state: "xxx is xxx as xxx is caused by xxx. If xxx was to xxx the xxx would xxx. These are just my opinions, but only a complete moron would think otherwise." You can fill in the gaps with cats, religion, jews, Windows, Unix, 16F84, token-ring, chocolate, taxes, heat, oil, MS BOB, guns, lead-free solder, conspiracy, cigarete smoke, porn, Volkwagon, Coke, cancer, single button mice, arabs, government, liquid paper, soduko, rednecks, CapsLock, orange underwear, Zune, spam, terrorists, Fiji, global warming, plastic, copper etc - any combination works. Here's a typical rant: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned Western leaders to follow the path of God or "vanish from the face of the earth". "These oppressive countries are angry with us ... a nation that on the other side of the globe has risen up and proved the shallowness of their power" Replace "Mahmoud Ahmadinejad", "Western leaders" & "God" with "RMS", "Windows Users" & "GNU", (you figure out the rest) and it still works. (Ok, a bit harsh on RMS. ESR? Then you can toss in guns) There doesn't seem to be any overlap or crossover between Groups A & B. I'm also forming a theory regarding those whose mail program fail to handle quoting properly, but I need a few more data points.
