I live in Utah and have followed the events surrounding Dr. Jones. He
was placed on "Administrative Paid Leave" while the school investigated
his report on the collapse of the World Trade Towers. His investigation
was in support of the theory that the buildings were imploded. He
attracted a lot of attention and the school wanted to make sure that
what he published had been through the proper peer review process. At
some point in the investigation, he retired.

An associate here at work was a student of Dr. Stephen Jones in his
physics classes at BYU.  Said he was the best professor he'd ever had.
I thought I'd seen a report recently that he'd 'retired', I don't think
the circumstances of his retirement were reported.
