Recently ordered from Mouser (Texas to Cleveland, Ohio) specifying USPS priority with tracking, got in 3 days (usually 2 days, probably Xmas rush). The Label indicated DHL had delivered to local post office, and then by local post carrier to my rural mailbox. We are in a semi-rural area on a motor carrier route. The area is small enough that most everyone knows everyone. Asked local mail carrier about tracking. She had a scanner next to her in the right hand drive Jeep postal vehicle. It gets scanned both by DHL, post office, and carrier when dropped off. If there was any issue, go to the local post office with a tracking number. It sounds like the tracking is similar to the rest (UPS, FEDex,etc.) and you are at the mercy of the local carrier/driver being honest. With Fedex you can request signiture/no-signiture, but then if not home, no delivery. Also someone could lift package after proper delivery. We may be the exception to the world, but here in Northern Ohio the delivery services work very well. Some shippers have enough traffic to demand a dedicated trailer to an area. Have had a UPS shipment from CDW(Chcago - Cleveland), said electronic info received, next thing was scanned in and out for delivery at Cleveland. Had similar on a replacement Maxtor HDD from Singapore, several days nothing, then out for delivery. -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
