Hi Martin I have the circuit and the code in C if you are interested Phillip Things should be as simple as possible but no simpler Phillip Coiner CTO, GPS Source, Inc. Subject: Re: [PIC] instructions for modifying El Cheapo for use with ZIF socket Redwood Shores, 29 november 2006. Dear John, I never tried the original instructions, but I can imagine that they wouldn't work well with more modern computers. That is the basic problem with Myke Predko: his ideas are quite useful, but due to bugs in writing, electronics and software they never come out the way he wanted them to. In a way it is fun if you are aware of these bugs... Today I was staring again at his contrast circuit for LCD with a 10 Ohm potmeter, which undoubtedly has to be a 10 kOhm potmeter. After staring at it long enough, I started wondering if something like that could be done using a PWM signal and a capacitor, but I doubt I'll try it.
