I've been designing a little gizmo requiring 5V @ 500mA. I am unsure as
what type of power supply to provision. I see a lot of devices these days
come with small switching AC adaptors, say 5V/1A, that are slim and easily
fit densly packed power bars.

Are these available anywhere at a decent price? What I found seems to run
about $20 a piece which is way overboard for my application.
