Is that what you used? No, I couldn't bet a suitable neon, so ended up using an LED. I wasn't going to go to a lot of trouble, as we were making only 2 units. I just wanted an indicator that showed the mains was on if the switchmode supply went belly up, or a lack of it if a fuse blew.
