Imho, compared to the error amplifiers in, e.g., the TL494, even a magamp is advanced technology, the LM324 could be alien technology in this context. Anyway the LMV324 from National is a LM324 look-alike that adds rail to rail 200mA outputs to the normal LM324 performance set (but has lower supply range).
