Here are a couple of photos of my completed SX28 multiboard with the second RS-232 port.  I used PortC-bit2 and PortC-bit3 because Port A already has full use, Port B remains unallocated and parts of PortC were used.  

As you can see, I used a ribbon cable DB-9 because it can plug in or be removed from the board.  Also, the 2x13 connector is on the backside of the board.  In this way I can keep the board atop a stack and reprogram easily.
