Hey, Microchip currently has a Zigbee solution, although it isn't particularly good, this is an external module (well IC) and is/was available through microchipdirect and other suppliers. However if you are making a new product/design I would avoid it, as the range is poor and the stack not particularly powerful. I have recently been involved with a company called ember based in Cambridge,UK who make excellent Zigbee solutions. During my meetings with them they revealed that they are producing the new Zigbee solution for microchip through the EM260 co-processor, and thankfully your post is timed well! A press release came out the other day, so I can now mention it! http://ember.com/press_release.html?id=95 So I would wait around for the new solution. My experience to date with ember is brilliant and I would highly recommend them. If anyone is looking at producing any Zigbee solutions and wants any more info on range etc you can expect from the EM260 drop me a line, as it may be a while before the info hits the microchip website. Hiya, Is anybody knows when could we expect it? Will be that the same thing as rf chips or is it just an external module that you can use with PICs?
