The xwisp2wf executable was built by me but I could not test it myself 
yet: only very recently I obtained a USB serial converter with FTDI chip 
but I have still to test xwisp2wf with it :-(  need some time......
For problem determination please use a command like:
   xwisp2f verbose log reggie go test.hex >reggie.lst
and send me (directly, not via PicList) the files reggie.log and reggie.lst

The 'Port COMx' is needed for xwisp2w (without the trailing 'f') to 
specify the proper virtual serial port. As far as I know you don't have 
to specify a port with wisp2wf.

In the meantime you may see in the readme file who originally provided 
the FTDI API code. I think he's a regular reader of the PicList. Maybe 
he could help.
