Odd, I have at 1500W inverter that'll drain a battery till it's dry (learned that the hard way a few times, deep discharging car batteries is a BAD idea, unless you have a lifetime warranty on them...). I'm sorry, but considering the task at hand, and your apparent knowledge of power design you should NOT be surprised that many here don't think it's a good idea for you to go down this path. The fact that you can buy an inverter for much less then it'll take to build one makes these suggestions even more inevitable. Personally, I'm just hoping you don't hurt yourself. Just remember, it may only be 12V going it, but the voltages generated inside can EASILY kill you or someone else. Good luck.
