All,

  Are there any special concerns with switching ON and OFF a low wattage 
(<3 watt) light bulb?
  Do I need to treat it like a relay that can have back EMF and thus 
requires a reversed diode?
  Will the initial ON current be very high and thus I should use a relay 
instead of a transistor?
