It seems to me that these connectors are not made for regular mates and demates. They are designed for a small number of uses, such as they would normally get when used in telephony service. They do generate problems with regular usage, one problem I have heard of is the wire contacts coming out of their slots in the body of the connector, and the back end coming free and going into an adjacent slot.
