Jason Feeling somewhat responsible - I just tried it here at work (Win 2K) M:\>mode com1: 19200, n, 8, 1 Worked fine for me. (I had also tried it at home last night on my laptop (WinXP). Failed. I tried several variations - all no good. Then I realised that I didn't have a com port on the laptop! It didn't lockup or cause other problems however, I just got an error message) RP On 26/10/06, Gerhard Fiedler wrote: > Jason wrote: > > > From: "Richard Prosser" > > Sent: Tuesday, October 24, 2006 5:52 PM > > > >> The mode command? > > > > The "DOS" with winXP is practically useless. > > I hear that a lot, yet I have still to find something that MS-DOS could > that WinXP can't.
