Maybe having Vpp on a > programming pin is worse if cable swapped. Or make a 6-pin and key it. I use Vpp, Vdd, Gnd, PGD and PGC. The reason for that is simple: I can plug the header into a breadboard such that the last two pins go directly into the same rows as RB7 and 6. Easy.
