assuming you are meaning four wire measurement then the principle is quite
simple.

you use one pair of wires to feed current to the resistor and another pair
of wires to measure the voltage accross it.

volt drop in the power feed pair is of no consequence because we are only
taking the current measurement in that loop

volt drop in the voltage measurement pair is negligable because the voltage
measurement has a very high resistance input
