If so, it is a method of resistance measurement that improves accuracy by not including the IR drop of the lead pair that supply the current to the resistance under test. Two wire ohm meters supply constant current to a resistance and measure the voltage drop. But they also include the drop of the leads. With four wire measurement, the second pair are connected directly across the resistance to be measured. The first pair supply current, the second pair go to the voltmeter that measures the IR drop. Since the voltmeter has a high input impedance, the second pair of leads has an IR drop error that is very, very small. It is a very good method for very low resistances. -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
