Has anyone managed to compile the software featured in the June '06
Nuts and Volts article "USB device control"?

The precompiled hex file works, but I can't compile the sources to a
working hex file, even using the compiler included in the file
"USB.zip".

Also, there are some intermediate files included that have later
timestamps than the hex file.  I'm not sure what to make of this.
