Much easier than an ICD2. No major defects that I've found. I did have a couple instances where I struggled for a few minutes to get it to connect to my target, but later found out that a power cycle of my target may be required when enabling debugwire. At this point, I give the dragon the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to user error. I will say the dragon seems to be faster than the ICD2 when used for debugging. No long, annoying pauses while things get updated. When used for ISP programming, it is much faster than my old serial port ATAVRISP. I wish the packaging included an enclosure instead of just a board. It doesn't even have holes in the corners for me to add some plastic standoffs for mounting to a more rugged surface. Also doesn't come with a USB cable nor any documentation, but at least the documetation in AVR Studio is sufficient. If you get one make sure you get the service pack 4 for AVRStudio as it has some related fixes. For $49 you can't go wrong.
