David, in your configuration fuse make sure debug is enabled. look for __config( ) http://www.microchipc.com/reviews/Hi-Tech_C_PICC18/install.htm Andre -----Original Message----- From: piclist-bounces@mit.edu [mailto:piclist-bounces@mit.edu]On Behalf Of David Sent: Wednesday, October 11, 2006 5:11 AM To: piclist@mit.edu Subject: [PIC] ICD2 coming out of debug mode I have a situation where I am trying to develop some code using a ICD2 debugger. The code is written in Hi-Tech "C" and using MPLAB V7.41. I have not had this problem occur on any of the previous projects. I can compile OK and download to ICD2. I can run the code and a few times I can stop and single step, move the breakpoint and then run again. But I am getting numerous errors as below... ICD0083: Debug: Unable to enter debug mode. Please double click this message for more information. ICD0069: Debug: Unable to run target MPLAB ICD 2 Ready If I simply click "Connect" in the debug menu , I can continue to run the code and also single step etc but I cannot do this long before the error appears again. I don't seem to need to program code again into debugger, it lets me continue just by selecting "connect". The oscillator on the target seems ok and MCLR is pulled to +5V via a shctky dioide and resistor like in all the other projects that do not do this. Thanks in advance for your help Regards David -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
