See - this got caught by my "tilde trap" and I'm replying to it :-). I skim headers mainly but get all too easily sucked into interesting threads, or decide to be "useful", or ... . I have utterly major commitments to a client which I must meet but have lost all motivation to do so for reasons which are complex. I have developed almost an aversion to working on his project. There is substantial background to this which I won't air here. Suffice it to say that the client seems to have "melted" even worse than I have for reasons which are a mystery to me, and that an agent provocateur has been at work making sure that things go as badly as possible. Now the deed has been done the AP is all sweetness and light. I have to work with the AP on an ongoing basis. I have no real idea of why he acted as he did. He was obviously seeking to achieve some end which is a mystery to me. I've never found myself feeling like this before or been in such a perverse situation (and I've been in a few perverse situations) and, once out of this most unpleasant situation, I hope never to have it happen again. Only time will tell. The upshot is that I need to rid myself of as many distractions as possible. Anything will do to keep me from the dread tasks :-). BUT the dread tasks must be done with alacrity and despatch. Once this is all over I hope to be able to have a look at what happened and why and see how I can avoid it happening again. For now, its batten down the hatches, hide the mailing list folders, grit my teeth and proceed. Hopefully. Keep them cards and ~~letters coming - but not too many :-) Russell -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
