Even the better Serial based or USB based debugger are not expensive. Silabs parts are of good features and the debugger/programmers are cheap and good. The professional C compiler from Keil is very expensive though. The main problem with Silabs seems to be the weak EMC performance. In my previous job, we switched to Silabs parts for three projects and encountered many problems with CE test. Now they decide to stick to Microchip. The other problem is that the price of Silabs MCUs is on the expensive side. -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
