Got a chance to test drive ELECTRA today, it's a fully functional 14-day evaluation version: http://www.konekt.com/dld/product/setup.exe Here's the URL of the homepage: http://www.connecteda.com/index.htm ELECTRA is very easy to use, and produces very good results (much better than the defaul Eagle's autorouter). To be fair, I must say that it does have its quirks. This being v1.5.7, I guess it should have been expected. A few of the traces were routed in zigzags instead of shooting from one pad to another in a straight line. ELECTRA refused to see pads whose shape was set to "Offset". The red (top) and blue (bottom) traces are not "transparent", like they are in Eagle, so when they overlapped they did not produce the purple color that I'm used to. Some of the right angles were not chamfered for some reason. There were a few unnecessary vias. It's impossible to close the .dsn file once it's open, without closing the program. However, ELECTRA is an order of magnitude faster than Eagle's autorouter, and the raw result it produces is much neater than anything I was ever able to get with Eagle. This makes up for its shortcomings ten times over. I'm surprised that I haven't tried ELECTRA before, it would have definitely saved me a lot of time and effort. I'm also surprised that based on the responses to the previous thread no one on this list has tried it, either.
