I looked at the first picture and the solution seemed instantly obvious just by looking at the symmetry of the device and thinking about how it could be folded back to make a flat piece of paper. In fact I thought my solution must be wrong as it seemed so obvious, but apparently not. Is this a left hand/right brain thing? I've not got much of either so I guess I just got lucky with this one. I reckon creating it without any cuts would make it a bit tougher!
