Since I live in Orlando.. from Tampa to Orlando is approximately 1.5 hours, from Orlando to KSC is approximately .8 hours.. you do not have to deal with rush hour problems.. In the morning you will be leaving Tampa while eveyone else is coming into Tampa to work. The south bypass around Orlando (417) Toll road about 4.50 US but worth the price.. is open so you don't have to deal with any Orlando traffic.. So directions would be: >From Tampa take I-4 east to Orlando Just before you get to Orlando take 417 east to 528 which is called the beachline. (also toll road cost about 2.50 US) go east on 528 (Beachline) to RT-407 which is a cutoff north-east to I-95 (saves about 10 miles), go north on I95 toward Titusville about 10 miles follow signs to KSC.. very easy trip should take about 2.5 hours.. I think the KSC tours start at 10AM I am sure google would be your friend here.. If you need any more info let me know..
