Never mind the scriptwriters, I think the budget was a greatly limiting factor!

Talking of budgets, do you remember Saphire and Steel with Joanna Lumley and David McCallum?  I found that quite spooky as a child, but having seen a couple of the episodes recently I can hardly belive the BBC had the audacity to broadcast something with acting so wooden and sets so flimsy that it made Dr Who look good.  If you enjoyed this series many years ago...probably best not to see it again!
