Hi Tobias Have a look at this page http://www.piclist.com/techref/microchip/picstartplusicsp.htm I program SMT PICs from 12F675 to 18F4550 with the PS+. It will work with any PIC if you disconnect the PIC from the circuit by switching (I use rotary). The PS+ is not designed to put out a lot of power and cannot drive a circuit. If you can make the ICSP pins (PB6, PB7) free that will make things simpler. I can usually do this with the larger PICs. You can then use the circuit 0V and 5V and need only manipulate MCLR.
