Sounds similar to my solution to print/scan the doc into a new PDF. I'm 
looking for a better solution, that would allow me to use Ctrl-F, for

The DRM people are unfortunately not that stupid. The protection doesn't 
allow printing to PDFWriter, PDF Distiller, or any printer that has a "print 
to file" option checked.
