There are a variety of tools for removing the various DRM controls on PDF documents. I haven't looked into it recently, but a google search should help. A quick and easy work around to solve both your problems at once: 1. Install a postscript printer in your system that prints to file (instead of printer port) 2. Print the PDF (once) to the postscript printer and save the file. 3. Use PS2PDF to convert the postscript file to a PDF - this PDF will be completely unencumbered.
