A problem is that that header doesn't work too well either.
GP3 has to be configured for external /MCLR and
you cannot use GP1; it has to be grounded or the ICD2
refuses to go into debug mode. So you only have 4 I/O
pins to play with. Amazing when they have a 14 pin chip
in the header.
