I took the drive out of the machine (nasty) and formatted it in NTFS, made the partition active, and copied the i386 directory to the drive, then reinstalled it. (nasty) The L1 Cannot boot from the CD, it is USB external, and there is NO option for an internal CD. The bios has a selection for 'boot from CD", but apparently that refers to an IDE CD, which is physically impossible. The six disk set from MS crashes on disk 5 Anything else I've tried, leaves me at a dos prompt, but no access to the hard disk to start the install process.
