Entirely obvious. Entirely brilliant.
Materials cost - about 4 cents NZ.
Materials availability - almost certainly available nearby any time 
you want a bounce reflector and haven't got one with you.

A quick trial of the idea down the length of my kitchen-dining room 
gave unexpectedly good results. Shadows and variations in lighting 
compared with direct flash were reduced to an extent I wouldn't have 
imagined. Standard bounce off the white ceiling gave nowhere near as 
good a result.
