Economic Left/Right: -2.50 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.62 Is there anybody /not/ ending up around that area? :) And why are the major players in http://www.politicalcompass.org/uselection (and in other countries, too) in the opposite area? _________________________________________ Howard wrote: > > I do miss a religious versus secular dimension! > > Me too - I'd be way away from the Dalai Lama if they had that :-) Buddhism is different in some key areas from the triumvirate Judaism/Christianism/Islam. In that compass, these are typically way up north, whereas you find the Dalai Lama not by accident in the south. You may still not end up too far away, even with such a dimension. _________________________________________ Wouter and Howard wrote: > > Yuk, yet another USA-centric website :( > > Indeed, [...] Hm... Did you guys read the FAQ? Clue: watch the spelling :) Also from http://www.politicalcompass.org/seminars: "The ideas behind The Political Compass - presented in a lively, challenging and entertaining way by a UK-based speaker...available for travel anywhere , with sufficient notice." Among other things, someone thought that the questions are designed to elicit answers with an authoritarian bias... OTOH these guys http://triptronix.net/ishbadiddle/archives/2002/12/10/14.35.37/ seem to think the test is designed to give "left and libertarian" results. To which our results here seem to add more evidence :) Gerhard -- http://www.piclist.com PIC/SX FAQ & list archive View/change your membership options at http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/piclist
