The beauty part there is that in addition to high output per watt, by using a passive element to redirect the light where it is needed, the bulb itself can be outside of the environment to be lighted. This pays off big time for supermarkets who no longer need to fight the heat generated by incandescent bulbs in those sixty-foot freezer cabinets.
