So I finally did it -- I was moving some stuff in storage last weekend and apparently one box had some ferric chloride in a container, which spilled in the trunk and folded-down rear seat of a minivan. Google found me some chemicals which are specifically ferric chloride stain remivers, but from suppliers in the UK. The MSDS says that it's 100% oxalic acid, which I can get from other sources, such as www.chemistrystore.com . Anyone here know if it really works? Can I just get oxalic acid from another source and expect it to magically remove the ferric chloride stains? There is a little bit of the stains visible at the top of the rear seat, and removing those are my priority. Or are there any other chemicals that can clean this off?
