Many years ago, I was working on an FM exciter that would not meet FCC
noise requirements (60dB below 100% modulation). It was using the then
common zener driving an emitter follower type voltage regulator. We
replaced it with a 723 and the noise went WAY down. The 723 has excellent
ripple rejection!
