Looks like the PIC16F886 might be available now. I just got a quote from Arrow 
showing a lead time of 11 weeks. They are not listed on MicrochipDirect yet.

Points of interest are that they have 8K words of Flash (yeah!), and can run at 
8MHz at 2V. Not sure if they lack anything compared to a PIC16F88. It doesn't say 
"Enhanced Flash" but apparently can read/write it's own Flash.
