OT as it's *not* real engineering :-) This very well presented highly credible site presents the latest something for nothing free energy scam. Appropriately configured rotating magnetic fields produce, much to their discoverers surprise and delight, a net source of energy. http://www.steorn.net/frontpage/default.aspx?p=1 I don't know what they are attempting to achieve but there's enough about their approach that suggests that they don't have what they claim to have. Even the incredible plausibility of their presentation speaks about it :-). One of these millenia someone may very well 'break the laws of Physics' with some new discovery, but it's not going to be these people. I'll go on record (and possibly down in flames) as saying that this is a scam or hoax of some sort for reasons inobvious. I'll also be very very very pleased if it turned out to be true. This would not just be the making of the people concerned, nor the guarantee of he Nobel Prize of the millennium but the complete transformation of the world as we know it. Flying cars, cheap access to space, free energy generators in every home, elimination of world poverty and a better American apple pie like mother used to make would just be the beginning. Which is part of why its presentation indicates it's a scam. Maybe the aim is to put a new word into the world's languages. 'Don't try to Steorn me' etc. Russell.
