I'm not very sure, but it want to be a sort of alternative to WIMAX. http://www.xgtechnology.com/about.asp The site is very unfriendly with the XG standard information, I remeber i've read an article somewhere about a demonstration where two journalists has been invited to see a link covering a large area with a small power transciever using a sort of QAM. The transciever was mounted in a top of 30 or 50m tower and they claimed the transmitter power was less than 50mW. Nobody measured that, say the journalists. As long there isn't a standard, it does not exist.
