Anyway my supervisor back in UC Irvine is his student in Caltech. One of the major problem was (no so sure if it still is) that Cuk topology is patented by Cuk. Therefore not many people would like to use it. The design of Cuk converter, especially the Magnetics part is not easy. I had a friend who did some study on Cuk converter based Power Factor Correction circuit and she told me it was not fun at all...
