Just back from 1 week away. 589 PICList messages extant. Quiet week on list I guess. Running a risk here. Hopefully a worthwhile one. COMPLAIN OFFLIST IF YOU THINK THIS SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN POSTED. TELL JAMES AND/OR TELL ME. DON'T ADD FUEL IF YOU THINK THERE'S A FIRE HERE. Best of all, don't read [OT][WOT] (whatever that may be) :-) Was looking for material on James Van Allen and found the site mentioned 2nd below which led me to the Bethlehem blog site. This is NOT a political post or whatever BUT anyone could turn it into that in a moment. I'm posting this 1. As a link to a superb list of blogger sites that others may be interested in. 2. As a specific link to the heart rending Bethlehem blogger site - one of many similar I'm sure. I'm not seeking to comment on the pros and cons of the Lebanon / Gaza / Israeli / Palestinian / other situation. I have my views (of course) but they are complex and uncertain. everything that is happening in that troubled area is sad and I'd love to see almost all of it being done better - whatever 'better' may mean. But I think many may benefit from this http://bethlehemghetto.blogspot.com/ One of zillions, makes heart rending reading (for me anyway). This is about Gaza, very very largely overshadowed by Lebanon - but for many just as deadly, albeit on a smaller scale. Regardless of whether one agrees with the writers easily perceived politics and perspectives. (I imagine that I largely don't, but I sympathise with his? position). The site I got this from is at least apparently a site supporting US troops in Iraq (not the war per se, the troops). ***BUT*** it has a large list of blogger sites in the current middle east trouble zones and these are why I'm posting it here. It may not be what it at first appears to be, but that's irrelevant to my post. http://www.iraqwarnews.net/ I've got to be working - I'm not going to spend the time even starting to try to explain my complex mix of thoughts on the whole "Israel versus the rest" problem. Being a committed Christian makes the problem harder, not easier, to form solid opinions on. I've no doubt that there is vast amounts of good material there - but so far I've looked only at the Bethlehem blog. Anyone else finding anything via these links that they think may be of interest to me are very welcome to bring them to my attention (offlist may be best).
