The cell makers will tell you that this is extremely dangerous. There is no way to solder it without raising the temperature of the positive end beyond the melting point of the plastics that the vent is made from. Once the vent is damaged, it will either stick closed (pressurized metal can full of hydrogen and oxygen) or stick open (rapid loss of electrolyte) .
