So, as per the Underpants Gnomes:

1. Don't vote
2. Complain about outcome
3. Profit?

Substitute 'Complain about outcome' with 'Get political', there's your
protection for the minority.  Unless you're governed by the 'One Nation'
(aka 'One Notion') party I mentioned in a previous post.
