Yup. Most of these transformers are rather shy on iron anyway, since iron is
expensive to ship.

It's a telling point that when selecting an inductor for an SPMS, the
inductor value is determined by the product of voltage and time.  The flux
density then in amp turns, along with losses at the proposed operating
frequency for that material, tells you what core you need.
