Elecktor Magazine had a project some time back (18mths-2yrs IIRC) using an
FPGA on a PCI card to bring signals out on the card looking like an ISA bus.
the programmed FPGA was available from a European supplier.

I suspect you may be better off getting a CAN interface card that goes
straight into a PC. They are available, I know we have one around here for
testing some CAN stuff.
