I was able to see the small block flash off / on as it moved left/right/up/down. Is this the correct response or a result of using possibly wrong pushbutton settup on the PDB?

All in all great! Please confirm my suspicion about not being able to use the PDB X9 pushbutton switches (because of the resistors).
