However, as said, I could always trace it back to a problem > with the programmer. Well, I'm currently using the EasyProg programmer which programs and then tests/verifys at both 4.5 and 5.5 volts. I used to use a PicStart+ until 1) its speed drove me mildly crazy and 2) it croaked. I had the same problem with the same relative frequency with it. That doesn't rule out a programmer related issue, but I'm hoping to consider that a little later is nothing else shows.
