What little I know..... About 25 years ago a man come to the US to be treated. The medical center found a unique antibody, dna or something in one of his organs. A drug company got this and produced a drug using the organism. It was a best seller and the drug company got even bigger, than it was big before the drug. When the family of the man discovered what had happened, they sued the drug company in US court. They won and the drug company paid a fortune to his heirs. Now I think you are asked to sigh a form upon admission that gives the medical center rights to everything. I am involved with a some what similar situation. My dog Pookie has a condition in which her skin contains an oil that dissolves her hair. This oil is collected twice a year by a drug company and cultured to produce a pill to dissolve hair balls in cats. Sort of a "Mr. Plummer" for cats. It is not much money, yet ,but does pay for nice wigs for my poor bald dog. And Pookie looks foward to the twice a year visits to Ames Iowa.
