Prices in CDN: ---------------------- TV Capture: $160 NSLU2: $100 The downsides are that you probably need be quite familiar with Linux already, plus you will be depending on 'cheap' hardware so reliability may not be the greatest, especially if the hardware will be outside in the heat/cold. The upside is that you are converting it to MPEG so you will save a lot of bandwidth. Whatever solution you choose to do, I highly recommend you use MPEG compression to save in bandwidth costs. Another solution is to use a more powerful computer on the video camera side that can detect motion and only send that data.
